ABOUT

Pastor Jeff Smith is one of those people who can really tell a great story.  Whenever he preaches and talks about the Bible, it’s as if he’s telling us a story out of a book or out of experience.

One of the stories that has lingered with me before this final project was assigned was how moved he was about finally holding the license to build their new church.  He began with telling us how he started with nothing: a high school drop-out who became a pastor with no formal training.  Something great emerged out of humble beginnings.  After searching, patience and negotiation with help from friends, family and God, he was finally holding that bright neon pink license to build.  It was finally time.

This is a promotional story for Cottage Grove’s Calvary Chapel church.  The purpose of me choosing this story (and why it stuck with me after hearing about it) was so that I could spread the word of this church, tell other Christians and people interested in Christianity and serving the Lord about how the Calvary Chapel worships and to simply promote trying to understand the Bible.  This story will hopefully traffic people in the Cottage Grove or even the Eugene area to go to this church and listen to what the Bible really means.  Word for word.

This story is one that the Calvary Chapel would be very likely to pursue in real life.  There are several people that are willing to give me their photos and videos to add to the website.

The intended audience for this is anyone who is maybe looking for a new church to go to, has caught word of the construction and would like to know more about it, and for other people who are interested in Christianity.  I think that they will find this story compelling because there photos of people working together, showing a strong sense of community, they get to hear what the church is promoting and what their “format” is through the spoken words of the pastor himself, and they get to see the video of how close the construction is to being completed.

I know that God has planned something great for this new church.
